Piggy French wins at Blenhiem Palace

Piggy French, so often runner-up, finally won a major three-day event, landing the Fidelity Blenheim Palace International with DHI Topper W.
French, 30, was first and second after cross-country, a feat only achieved once before here by William Fox-Pitt. But her other ride, Lemington Lett Dance, was among several footsore horses and could not contest the show jumping finale.
DHI Topper W won the Olympic test competition at Greenwich in July but this was a different league of competiton altogether and more than twice the distance.
Peggy. “I am so relieved for the horse and for my support team. They must have wondered if we would ever land a big event,” said French.
American Tiana Coudray, 23, was runner-up with Ringwood Magister, having sold all her other horses to pay for her extended trip. Third was Bettina Hoy on Lanfranco TSF.
Alexanders Horseboxes would like to Congratulate Peggy on her successful win.
