Alexanders Horseboxes was founded in 2005 by Alexander Brimelow. Already a partner in the sister business Alexanders Prestige with long term friend Andrew North, both were very experienced in the high end motor trade and had brought their exacting standards together in Alexanders Prestige which has now grown into one of the most respected dealerships for pre-owned and new Range Rover, Ferrari, Bentley, Lamborghini and Porsches in the country.
It was with those standards and expectations that Alex set out to buy a horsebox for his show jumper wife only to find that he was not getting the attention, the customer service or the product that he felt a purchase of this scale should deserve. This was further compounded when the box that they eventually bought privately turned out to be very unsatisfactory, with one frightening episode ending in the vehicle being driven home and never used again.
Seeing a gap in the market Alex set about establishing Alexanders Horseboxes with a strong focus on customer service, product quality and in particular safety for both horse and rider. The business took off immediately and in 2008 a new purpose built 22,000 square foot dealership was opened for the businesses to share. The dealership in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire houses the entire range of Alexanders horseboxes for you to view in comfort inside a bespoke heated showroom, while our outdoor lot contains a variety of pre-owned and larger examples. This modern and unprecedented dealership also features a full service centre and in house aftercare centre incorporating a state of the art workshop and body repair facility manned by an ever growing team of highly skilled and trained technicians.
Alexanders Horseboxes have always firmly believed that customer service is paramount and that exceeding customer expectations whilst offering exceptional value for money is the key to running a successful business. Sales of over 200 horseboxes in 2010 far exceeded any of our expectations but exemplify that and it has been further proven in the many awards we have won including ‘Best Medium Size Business’ and ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’.
Alexanders is still expanding and continually seeking to raise the bar in the horsebox industry, the Lehel by Alexanders range revitalising and reintroducing the legendary marque back into the UK market, with the care, attention and gusto that it deserves, to an overwhelming reaction.
